The newer train provides less comfort with a hard bed and jolts that wake even the heaviest sleeper from their slumber. The heat throughout the cabin sits at 29 degrees and is extremely uncomfortable at times during the evening. Not really complaining but have decided to take a strong drug of some description tonight to knock me out.

We enjoy our yoghurt that was acquisitioned from the previous hotel and kept overnight by the lovely carriage lady in her fridge and our coffee and tea supplies are holding up and working a treat. It’s the small things that can save us a few dollars along the way.

A relaxing day ogling the never ending snow capped trees and little villages straight out of a movie set that continue to amaze. We get stuck into the Netflix series, The Last Czars to polish up on some relevant history, our next overnight stop from the train is the resting place of the Romanovs.

A few beers and cards in the diner and being disturbed by the annoying lone English traveller trying to communicate to the lone Chinese traveller. It’s clear the Chinese guy cannot understand a word the loud English guy is saying and is just over laughing at him when it’s not even slightly funny. Kill me now.
